THE POWER OF THE VOICE

The art of expression, communication, and representation.

Did you know that the voice is one of our most powerful tools? Not only does it allow us to converse, but it also plays a significant role in shaping our identity and representation in society.

Giving voice goes beyond conveying our own messages; it also involves channeling the feelings, thoughts, and demands of others. It means representing those who are often excluded or marginalized and lack the strength or means to do so themselves. In diversity and inclusion, it is essential to listen and make space for various experiences and perspectives. Raising our voice means expressing our views with courage and firmness, challenging stereotypes and prejudices. Every time we raise our voice for a cause, we create an echo that resonates in society.

The voice is as unique and diverse as the people in the world. Tonalities, intonations, rhythms, and melodies intertwine to create a tapestry of authenticity. Let’s celebrate our differences and recognize that each voice plays a fundamental role in the chorus of humanity.

Within society, the voice can also be a reason for prejudice. In the case of transgender individuals, they face discrimination due to the perceived characteristics associated with a stereotypical masculine or feminine voice.

Similarly, people with speech-related disabilities still face marginalization due to the lack of interpreters in businesses, service companies, retail, among others. It is crucial to implement active inclusion measures in organizations, continuously educate ourselves, maintain an open mind, and think of communication with an inclusive vision.

On our journey towards true inclusion, let’s embrace the multiplicity of voices around us. Let’s listen, learn, and support those voices that have been silenced or ignored. Together, let’s build a world where all voices are valued.
